For the final video in my Halloween Series 2022 (check it out HERE ) I went out on a limb and tried out the new Tim Holtz Winter Frost Distress Mica Stain for the starry background in my Pumpkin House scene. I love how this looks! The night sky is filled with stars and gives a beautiful glow to the background in this card. The addition of Black Soot Spray Stain brings a subtle element of nighttime to the scene.

The whimsical colors I used for the pumpkin house add a Halloween feel to the this card but it could easily be used as a fall card. The cute little glowing mushrooms and shading on the flowering vines are perfect for autumn-themed cards! I also used a squeeze bottle to apply glow-in-the-dark dots to some elements in the card. It is a fun surprise that the recipient will enjoy.

I hope you have enjoyed this Halloween card series. I’m already hard at work designing some Thanksgiving goodies and I hope you will join me here in the coming weeks where I will link all details for these projects.

Cheers!

Welcome to my blog!

I’m excited to finally launch this blog after months of card making, writing, photography, recording, editing, more editing and a LOT of anticipation. I love card making and I spend so much time daydreaming and sketching out ideas and designs for cards, some of which actually make it to the crafting table. A perfect afternoon for me is a pot of tea and some time with paper, inks and dies. My goal is to have fun while inspiring others to combine and use their stash of elements in new and exciting ways – to combine the old with the new to create cards that you love and that you are happy to give to others. I hope you find inspiration in my content. I’m always happy to connect with fellow card makers to talk “shop.” Enjoy!
